What is a drunk-o-log?

Drunk-o-log is an "AA Slang" term for when a person shares at length about the horrors of their drinking days while not discussing their efforts toward recovery or sobriety.

The term is usually used derogatorily out of the notion that we all know how to get drunk and that focusing on drinking stories is of little benefit to anyone. AA meetings have traditionally been used to collectively share experience with sobriety, doing the 12 Steps and helping others - so many feel it inappropriate to take up meeting time recounting "the old days."
