Dr. Bob and his family were part of The North Congregational Church in St. Johnsbury Vermont. When married Dr. Bob and his wife Anne joined Westside Presbyterian Church in Akron, Ohio. About the time of Anne's death, Bob attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Akron.
While growing up Bill W. attended East Dorset Congregational Church in Vermont. Later, when Bill attended Burr and Burton Academy, he regularly attended this Congregational influenced daily chapel, the Manchester Congregational Church, and was president of the YMCA. Bill never belonged to a church thereafter.
